TL;DR below. I have played many a number of games on various platforms, from Western (primarily American) and Far Eastern games (primarily Japanese). And at the end of playing such games, one thought would always enter my mind: 'What if one day there was a game set in India or made by Indians of similar caliber? ' Fair warning: I am writing this from the perspective of a gamer who is heavily biased in seeing the gaming industry emerge with rich Indian cultural content by Indian talent. To be fair, there have been attempts to capture it by Western developers, such Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time (the upcoming remaster of which is ironically being made by Ubisoft Pune, an upcoming first for them) or Uncharted: Lost Legacy which covers a mercenary's attempts to secure a cultural family heirloom in the Western Ghats among others. Now this game is NOT in the vein of, say, God Of War or Assassin's Creed or even Team Ico(ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian)'s offerings. What this game is more similar to, are games like the classic Prince of Persia side, Trine or Limbo.
