Soon afterwards, Miller's act is a hit. Along the way, Rogers is unaware that he is the real reason the act is a success and becomes very loyal to Miller. Even though he receives no billing, he defends his "partner" when others suggest he is being taken advantage of by Miller. Eventually, even Miller's wife Mary is ashamed of his treatment of Rogers, going so far as to threaten him with divorce. Miller is more determined than ever to prove he can make it as a single and fires Rogers, but promptly regrets his decision as his first performance as a true solo artist flops. He addresses the audience, apologizing and admitting that the "stooge" was the true heart and soul of the act. Rogers, who is sitting in the audience, comes to his rescue by joining him onstage and the two finally become true partners. They were told that whenever their labor pains began, they were to pack their suitcase and walk to the third floor, where their baby would be delivered. The girls in the dorms never saw their friends again. They were whisked out the backdoor of the third floor and sent back home, with or without their babies. The main character told her story in the first person in this novel. She took her baby home, but her mother arranged a "back-door" deal and gave the baby away. Years later, she found her son, and also located her good friend from her time in the home. Times have certainly changed from the 1950's. Now unwed pregnancy is not viewed as it was in the past. Girls who are pregnant before marriage are not treated today as they were then. I recommend this book. It was well-written and the characters were real to me as I read it. It is a fast read. Bon, la formule de change pas car c'est toujours les mêmes personnages, le même univers. Mais, l'histoire et les personnages s'enrichissent suffisamment pour renouveler l'intérêt et le plaisir qu'on a en regardant ce troisième opus. Et je trouve que les nouveautés sont très appréciables. Car cette fois ci, Clochette va vire une... Lire plus Après m'être fait récemment "Clochette et la Fée Pirate", je me devais bien de finir toutes mes critiques sur la saga. Et s'il y a un épisode de cette saga que j'ai le moins apprécié, c'est bien celui-là. Attention, pas que je l'ai détesté, mais je l'ai trouvé en dessous des autres. C'est sans doute parce que contrairement aux autres films, l'intrigue ne se déroule pas dans la Vallée des Fées. Alors bon, ça apporte certes un peu de... Si le scénario n'est pas le plus original, il reste cependant celui qui fait le plus penser à"Peter Pan". J'ai encore adoré. J'ai trouvé ce dessin animé vraiment magique. Les dessins animés de la fée Clochette sont tous très réussis.
