First time I watched this was when our art teacher was sick so the cover teacher put this on when we were in year 7 and it was truly the most terrifying thing I had seen😭😭 But I loved it and still do. This is like the 4th time I seen this. Love the character dynamics their chemistry and comedic times. The horror elements truly made this such a diverse film compared to other animated films. And we havent had an animated film like this in a while. It was so sad when the old man had to say goodbye to his dead wife:( she didnt deserve all the abuse she received. She just wanted to live her dream😔… A metaphor about a man trapped in an abusive relationship for 45 years until some kids help free him by killing his wife.

This review may contain spoilers. i cant believe the movie i had constant nightmares about as a kid is actually just an elaborate play on the term 'house wife' Recent reviews Wtf is this and the animation sucks I'm surprised by how much of this movie I remembered. It probably stuck out in my mind because it's INSANELY dark for a kids' movie. It walks back some of its consequences and finds a nice ghost-story-closure ending, but it's just insistently mean-spirited in a way I kind of admire. It also gets around the limitations of its rudimentary CGI by choosing a more stylized aesthetic, which is never a bad move. The only good movie to come out of the zemeckis house of horrors. My daughter talked me into watching this. Unexpectedly really dug it, and I thought it was pretty dark for a kids movie and surprisingly poignant.
