Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2019 Verified Purchase I love finding little gems like this, a movie that I never heard about when it first came out, low budget, but higher quality than you would assume. Is it perfect? Of course not! But it does entertain and has a fair number of twists and turns. Like many things in life one's perspective is determined by expectations and that is especially true of movies. If you go into a horror comedy just expecting hot chicks ripping dudes apart you will walk away from this movie pleasantly surprised by the extra depth and effort it has even though the low budget shows at times. If you go into it expecting Oscar worthy performances, Marvel-esque banter, Citizen Kane level cinematography and $100 million special effects you will be one of the losers rating this movie lower than it deserves. This is not a 1 star movie, it is at worst a 3 star movie, if you're having a bad day. Because my expectations were low (I clicked on a movie called All Cheerleaders Die which had a trailer featuring scantily clad women, let's be honest) I got more than I asked for and feel it deserves that extra bump to 4 stars because I had so much better a time than I bargained for.

Nurarihyon enters Osaka Castle to rescue Princess Yo from Hagoromo-Gitsune. During the era when the Toyotomi clan ruled Japan, there lived a young woman known as Princess Yo, who could heal any wound or disease with her magical powers. Ryuji Keikain uses his Shikigami "Gyogen" to attack Rikuo, who defends himself with his blade. Ryuji halts his attack when he recognizes the blade as "Nenekirimaru, " a Spirit Blade that can only cut down yokai. Ryuji Keikain and Mamiru Keikain, two onmyoji who are powerful enough to take down even Aotabo, have arrived in Ukiyoe Town. Having lost his father at an early age, young Rikuo Nura aspires to become the Supreme Commander of yokai just like his grandfather and late father did.
